Idea Generation Method
Hello again! This week we are going to introduce you an idea generation method. We chose the 5 W’s. The method is sometimes referred as Five Ws and How , 5W1H , or Six Ws. The picture above already tells quite well of what this is all about. But to be precise, according to the principle of the Five Ws, a report can only be considered complete if it answers these questions starting with an interrogative word (= a function word used to ask questions) Answering these five W’s helps us achieve a very holistic view of the topic under discussion. And it is an efficient way to come up with solutions and ideas. For example, suppose you want to create a new product or a service. You can do so by asking questions like, who would use the product, why would people buy it, what would it do, etc. Each question should have a factual answer—facts necessary to include for a report to be considered complete.
